Student Services

The AQ Library is here to serve YOU! We interested in helping to make your time here as rewarding as possible.
Here are several ways we can help.

Research Help

Research assignments can be stressful - let us help you!

Whether you need one or several information sources, we can show you some amazing places and techniques to make your searches more effective and efficient.

We can help you refine or expand your research topics to reflect the scope of your assignments. We're also able to work with you to review sources you've already discovered to ensure that they're reliable and appropriate for the assignment.

Room Reservations

We have two rooms that may be reserved for group use.

JLH 302 can fit up to 25 people, and has a white board, TAP Cart, and reconfigurable tables and chairs.

JLH 112 is our computer lab. It has 26 computers and a TAP Cart.

Course Reserves

Sometimes we have a copy of required course materials "on reserve" in the library. These items have a short checkout period so that they are available to many students during the semester.

Study Tables and Peer Tutoring

AQ Study Tables are in the Library. All you need to do is check in when you arrive, and check out when you leave.

Peer Tutoring happens at the Library too.

Personal Librarian Program

Research shows that interacting with librarians and library services contributes to student success.

Starting in the Fall 2017 semester, AQ Librarians are offering a service called the Personal Librarian Program. Geared toward first-year students, our goals are simple: 1) to ensure that students new to college are aware of library resources, services, and programs; 2) to offer research and assignment support to first-year students; and 3) to decrease student anxiety when it comes to library use.

Throughout first-year students' first year at AQ, they can expect Personal Librarians to offer help with

  • Navigating the AQ Library

  • Finding articles, books, videos and other information sources

  • Deciphering assignments

  • Developing research topics

  • Citing sources
